Happy New Year!

We hope everyone is having a fun and safe holiday break! As a reminder, classes resume for students in UPK-12 on Monday, January 5, 2026. Middle school will be a "C" day, high school will be an "A" day. See you soon!

DRIVING ON CAMPUS

Before break, there was a significant increase in unsafe driving practices during student drop-off and pick-up times on campus. For the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, as well as the drivers around you, we urge you to follow the rules of the road.

Do not pass other cars. We understand many people are in a rush during transition times, but please do not pass other cars on campus. This creates a huge safety risk with the number of pedestrians walking on campus.

Do not speed through campus. There are posted speed limit signs throughout campus, as well as speed bumps, to remind drivers to please slow down! Children are leaving school, and employees are walking to their cars. Speeding through campus is dangerous for everyone.

Do not pass school buses. If a school bus has its lights flashing or its stop sign out, DO NOT PASS. This means students are getting on and off the bus, and some may even be crossing the road. Remember, passing a school bus is against the law (even when you're on school grounds).

Follow directions from staff on campus. Staff members are on campus to direct traffic during drop-off and pick-up times. Please follow their directions and be mindful that their job is to keep everyone safe.

Pick up ONLY in designated areas.
This is especially important at the middle and high schools. Do not enter the MS/HS staff or student parking lots to pick up your student. Please only pick up students in the designated pick up area (behind the school).

Don't forget, kids should come to school with warm clothes for outside recess! In his December 15th update, Mr. Urban shared "We're going to be bringing students outside as much as possible this winter. Which means we really need families to send students with a hat, gloves, jacket, snow pants, and boots each day." Check out the picture below of a snow fort that 4th graders have been working on, thanks to Tammy Hoch for sharing!

MINI HOLIDAY PAINTINGS
Over the last two weeks in Art Club, students played holiday music and created tiny, festive paintings. Each student came up with their own image that they wanted to use for their paintings. For a final touch on some, students watered the paint down and flicked white paint over the images to give the feeling of snow falling. All the art club members were excited to bring their tiny paintings home as gifts for their family and friends.
