UPDATES & REMINDERS

CAMPUS-WIDE EVACUATION DRILL
On Friday, March 20, 2026, we will conduct a campus-wide evacuation drill. Information was emailed to families on Wednesday. Read the details on our website.

PTA ICE SKATING NIGHT
Don't miss the PTA's Ice Skating Night on Saturday, March 21 from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the indoor ice skating rink at the Bethlehem YMCA (900 Delaware Avenue, Delmar, NY). This is a gifted event by the PTA. Skate rentals are included at no cost to families. Helmets, snow pants, and gloves are recommended. Due to an overwhelming number of skaters last year, the PTA asks that only Ellis students and their immediate family attend the event. Please park in the back parking lot of the YMCA. Questions? Contact ellispta@greenvillecsd.org.

KIDS HEART CHALLENGE SIGN UP
Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 received information on Monday during their PE classes about the Kids Heart Challenge. Fundraising and registration have begun and will continue through Friday, April 3rd. Online fundraising money goes to research and education to help people with special hearts. Join today to make a difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Register online and complete Finn's Mission to learn hands-only CPR.

CIRCUS ARTS
Students in Coach Brady and Coach Zeh's Physical Education classes are mastering the circus arts this week. From walking on stilts to juggling, plate spinning, and balancing, students are improving their motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and strength. And most importantly, they're learning to have fun while exercising! Our P.E. coaches always come up with the most fun activities for our students. We're grateful for their creativity!

SPARTAN STORE OPENS SOON
The Spartan Store, run by Mrs. Scher's class, will open on Monday, March 30th. Any student can stop by the store on their grade's designated weekday to purchase items of their choice. Most items range from $.25 to $3 and include things like fidgets, squishy toys, small toys, pens, etc. As items sell out, inventory will change. In addition, they will be selling Spartan Strong t-shirts (maroon or black) for $10 each.

Here's the schedule, beginning Monday, March 30, 2026:
Mondays 8:10-8:25 - Grades 2 and 4
Wednesdays 8:10-8:25 - Grades 1 and 5
Fridays 8:10-8:25 - Grades K and 3

PARENT INPUT ON PLACEMENT FOR 2026-27
The creation of class lists is a complex process that prioritizes the educational needs of each child and the needs of the entire grade level. Having parent information is helpful to us as we match children to their peers and specific learning environments. Please do not request a specific teacher, as these requests are not honored.

Final decisions regarding placements, with thoughtful consideration of parent and faculty recommendations, will be made by the principal. Responses to the Parent Input on Placement form are due by Monday, March 30, 2026.

LUNCH NEXT WEEK

UPDATES & REMINDERS

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Congratulations! We celebrate the following students for their achievements and are proud to honor them as February Students of the Month during the 2025-2026 school year. Grade 6: Jackson F. and Alexander R. Grade 7: Ella T. and Lucas L. Grade 8: Sabrina M. and Silas M.

SPARTAN STRONG STUDENTS OF CHARACTER
The Spartan STRONG trait of the month for February is 'Offer Empathy & Acceptance'. To offer empathy or acceptance, the first step is simple, just listen to others! Next, try to connect with what they are saying by asking questions, sharing your experiences, and showing that you care. Finally, challenge your assumptions about those around you and take the time to get to know your classmates. Remember, 'We are Spartan STRONG!' Grade 6: Lucas F.  Grade 7: Cullen S.  Grade 8: Raelyn G.

CO2 CARS
Our 8th grade CTE students put their design skills to the test last week by racing the CO2 cars they built with Ms. Lewis! From planning and shaping to fine-tuning for speed, this project combined creativity, problem-solving, and a little friendly competition.
