DECA ATTENDS ICDC Congratulations to Nicole Chase and Alannah Mac Donald-Katz, who qualified to attend DECA's 2026 International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.
This is the highest-ranking event for DECA, where over 25,000 students from all 50 states and several countries compete. The ICDC is considered the largest and most prominent high school business and entrepreneurship competition event in the world. Roughly, the top 5% of students in their respective events and states make it to this prestigious conference. Of the 400,000-plus members in DECA globally, only the top 3 are awarded trophies at the ICDC.
Alannah Mac Doanld-Katz (Junior) competed in the Restaurant and Food Management Series (RSFM) against over 700 individuals. She had to complete a 100-question exam and 2 blind role-playing scenarios on her topic area.
Nicole Chase qualified to attend the ICDC as an emerging leader in the Aspire program, in large part, due to a perfect score on a role-playing event at the state level. The Emerging Leader Series brings together hundreds of DECA's highest aptitude students to network, collaborate, critically think, and problem-solve real-world events to prepare them for life's endeavors. The program Nicole was selected for was specifically for graduating seniors.
DECA Advisor, Mr. Lacy, shared, "This marks the end of our competition activities this year. It has been a very successful inaugural year of DECA at Greenville. The future is bright for this club, and the best part is that anyone in grades 9-12 can join!"
If you're interested in DECA, please see Mr. Lacy for more information. Summer workshops and preparation for next year are already underway!
